Top Picks

On my ‘Top Picks’ page, I will share some of the great products I’ve discovered and use, and I’ll tell you where to get them for yourself! From a handy, dandy cooking tool to a wonderful herbal remedy, I’m always on the lookout for great items that will make your life easier.

Pantry Staple

My Top Pick this week is a staple in my pantry.  These Fire Roasted Peppers from Trader Joe’s are amazing!!!!  I always have a couple jars on hand , because you can use them in so many recipes.  Enjoy them as a side dish, in a salad, on a pizza,  in an antipasto platter, in pasta, on chicken, in tuna salad, the list goes on.  The jar goes a long way.  Enjoy.

Kitchen Shears

My Top Pick kitchen shears are this cute little 7″ scissor made by Fiskars. Don’t let it’s small size fool you, this shear is heavy duty and cuts through just about anything! So be very careful when using with this one. The great thing is that it comes with a lock on protective covering so you will never cut yourself when going to get it out of your drawer (and you will be doing that often with this little gem). From fresh herbs to cutting up chicken, you can cut right over your pan making it quick and easy with no mess – because that is what Min Dins is all about! I found mine at Target, but after doing a Google search, I found the best place to find your Fiskars is at Walmart, coming in at just under $10!!

Cast Iron Skillet

My Top Pick cast iron skillet hails from that wonderful store, TARGET!! It is made by Lodge and costs just under $20. It is pretty heavy so you get a bicep workout while you cook. It is large enough to make about 6 fillets at once, and  it’s perfect for making this week’s Min Din. Since everything fits into one pan, that means less mess for you which means less clean-up time – a win-win in my books!

Non Stick Cooking Spray

My Top Pick non-stick cooking spray is this Organic Olive Oil Spray that you can find at Trader Joe’s for only $2.99! It has about 542 sprays per container, so it will last you a long time. I use it for just about everything that I cook to prevent sticking. Even when you are using my Top Pick pan, this will ensure that nothing ever sticks, leaving you with a very quick and easy clean up!

Ice Cube Tray

My Top Pick ice cube tray is this cute little heart-shaped one that I was lucky enough to find at Target! They usually have them around Valentine’s Day, so be sure to check the dollar isles when February roles around.  For now, you can find them online at Rose Wholesale for just over $3.00 with free shipping.  I use this tray for so many fun treats – from frozen watermelon bites to homemade chocolate candy, and of course, it will make your cocktails look extra special!

Ice Cream Container

My Top Pick ice cream container is by Tovolo. It will keep a pint of that homemade deliciousness fresh! The lids come in all sorts of fun colors – I was lucky enough to find my pink lid container at Home Goods for around $5!

Frying Pan

My Top Pick frying pan is the Bliss Hydro Ceramic Frying Pan. I love this pan because not only is it easy to clean, but it is beautiful as well! I found my 11″ pan at Home Goods for only $14.99. It didn’t come with a lid, but I found that my lids at home fit perfectly. Directions say that you don’t need to use a coating, but I found that a little spray ensures that nothing sticks to this pan. The cookware comes in many fun colors, so you are sure to find one that suits your taste!

Meat Chopper

My Top Pick meat chopper is by True Living and it’s available at Dollar General for just $2!!! It is perfect for separating your ground meat right in the pan for easy clean up. It can withhold temperatures of up to 400 degrees, making it safe to put in your dishwasher as well.

Cold Brew Maker

My Top Pick cold brew maker is by OXO. I bought mine at Bed Bath and Beyond for $49.99, and it was hands down one of the best investments I have ever made. I love that it has a built-in filter so you never have to mess with changing out filters. It comes with everything you need, including a cute carafe for storing your freshly brewed coffee in. The top of the carafe is also a measuring cup for your concentrate-to-water ratio to ensure you get a perfect cup every time.  Image result for oxo cold brew

Vegetable Noodle Maker

My go-to tool for making vegetable noodles is the original Veggetti. I found mine at Target in the ‘As Seen on TV’ section for only $9.99. I love that it has both thin and thick options so you can change up how you make your noodles. I like to use the spirals that come out of the bottom as well so you are not wasting any of the vegetable. If you’re looking for an even better bargain, I did find  something similar at Home Goods for $4.99!

Portable Cutting Board

My Top Pick portable cutting board is called the Chop to Pot. I found this at Home Goods for ….. ready for this….. $4.99!!! I was never a fan of cutting boards, until I found this one. I love that you can fold it together and everything falls directly into your pot, no mess!  It’s super easy to clean too! You just pop it in the dishwasher and you’re ready for the next meal. It also stores neatly in the drawer. I love this find, and for just $5, you can’t go wrong!
